I was cheated by people whom I trusted: Meti

HUBBALLI: Former minister, H Y Meti, who resigned after a sex CD involving him was released last week, on Sunday claimed that persons whom he trusted had cheated him. Speaking to TOI over phone, Meti who has remained inaccessible to the public said he had done nothing wrong and would come clean in the CID probe that has been ordered.
"I had no contact with any woman.Some people have made that video by fixing a camera in my house. I don't know whose handiwork this is as hundreds of people come to meet me in my house. Can I suspect them all? I never thought I will be betrayed by my own people,'' Meti said.
Maintaining that he was innocent, Meti said he resigned after the CD surfaced to avoid embarrassment to the state governmen and to facilitate an impartial inquiry.
Asked whether he would file a com plaint with the police, Meti claimed tha since he did not know who was behind the sleaze video and he would leave it to the CID. He also had no plans to mee the Congress leadership in New Delhi and explain the is sue. “My family members party workers and supporter stood by me and boosted my confidence, and mentally pre pared me to face this critica period in my life. The person who are behind this conspiracy should be brought to book and punished,“ Meti said.
